We all have had to face challenges in our lives especially during our teenage years when every problem can feel insurmountable. This is why I feel the support provided by BRIT is invaluable to its beneficiaries. "Everything is Possible" is the BRIT motto, and a phrase that I have often used as inspiration throughout my life. The combination of this Motto as one of BRIT's core values, and the tireless work of its founder Phil Packer, makes me proud to support BRIT and help out whenever I can. "We all need a helping hand at some point in our lives."

“It was a privilege to get to know Phil rowing from England to France. We have shared a lot of laughs together. The BRIT project is inspiring and I am honoured to be able to offer my support. Phil is a fabulous example to young people that overcoming difficulties is possible, and that nobody else should be the authority on your own potential. Hard work, determination, boldness, positivity and an ability to laugh are what make Phil such an inspiring figurehead for this project. I will do all that I can to help”.

Having undertaken a number of adventures with Phil Packer, objectives that on paper were way beyond his ability, I can attest to Phil's inner strength, stamina to make the impossible possible, and an unflinching focus even in the face of no small amount of pain and personal risk. Phil is the perfect man to make BRIT a reality and see that his own strengths effect those who need a small dollop of the “Packer magic”.

I first met Phil Packer in the Autumn of 2009, filming with him at Goodwood House in preparation for him receiving the Helen Rollason award at BBC Sports Personality of the Year. His story was so captivating that we made an Inside Sport documentary about Phil, following his every move as he completed the 3 Peaks Challenge and then his second London Marathon in 2010. I was already well aware of what an inspiration Phil was, but witnessing him crossing the finish line in the Mall after 26 hours of walking was a remarkably emotional moment. It is a real credit to Phil that he is now using his influence and profile to help thousands of others. BRIT is a fantastic idea and deserves to be a huge success. I wish Phil and all of those involved all the best.

Disability is not death or a death sentence. It does not reduce or diminish someone’s capacity for anything that life has to offer, it only makes people think that it does! Society helps perpetuate this by setting limits and making rules, not allowing for possibilities, not realizing that we are all unique in our abilities, not encouraging development of our abilities as human beings. Not recognizing that all life has value and worth including those lives effected by disability. To say what someone can accomplish or cannot accomplish based on a visual assessment of a physical limitation, disease, disorder or perceived difference is wrong. Thanks for all you are doing and I wish you much success in all your challenges. We all know once you put your mind to it, and your heart in it, you can accomplish whatever it is you set out to do.

On behalf of everyone at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead I congratulate Phil Packer MBE for having the courage and dedication to undertake “Brit 2012 Challenge”. I hope his dreams are realised in that the “walk” will be a huge success, many youngsters inspired, funds raised for lots of charities and the Centre built. If his determination and insight are anything to go by it will be proved that “everything is possible”. I hope that all charities and youth establishments will see the benefit of participating in the BRIT 2012 Challenge. Good luck to you Phil and all participants.

Phil Packer is a reminder to all of us that we are masters of our destiny. I was honoured to be asked to become a BRIT Mentor to try and encourage young people to learn that truth for themselves. Too many of them have forgotten or do not understand just how powerful they are. Inside every one of them is a light capable of burning brightly enough to illuminate the world.

“I believe that everyone has the ability to achieve the goals that they may set themselves. However some people and especially young people facing adversity in one form or another and have challenges that can seem insurmountable, can benefit from a helping hand, a little nudge or a light to lead the way. BRIT is about providing the opportunity to help the young people in our society to achieve a dream or to change their life. Whether someone has a disability or cares for someone with a disability or maybe a young person that has not had all the lucky breaks in life that others seem to have, perhaps they have no way of moving forward after a setback, then that is the time for us as a society to help and assist in any way we can, through inspiration, motivation, encouragement and support, this project can give that opportunity. I share the aspirations of BRIT and I am extremely honoured that Phil has asked me to be a Mentor and be a part of BRIT. I can think of no finer place than here in Britain and no finer man than Phil to lead this project”.

“I am honoured to put my name down to support the British Inspiration Trust (BRIT). I am continually amazed by Phil’s determination and courage in the face of adversity. There are many challenges sent to try us in life but I can only stand in awe of what he has managed to achieve and overcome. One of the toughest tests I have faced as a racing driver is the Le Mans 24 Hours. It is a truly unique event that you have to focus mind, body and soul on in order to come out on top. I believe that if you want something enough and you work hard for it you will achieve your dream. I am happy to give 24 hours to BRIT and would encourage others to do the same. Phil Packer is no ordinary man but he and his Inspiration Trust know how to get the best out of ordinary young people at a time when the cards are stacked against them. “I am thrilled to be able to offer any help I can to the inspiring Phil Packer, his idea to set up BRIT is typical of Phil's selflessness and his intuition about what young people need. We all need mentors and people to inspire us, when I was growing up my heroes were usually sports men and women I admired from a distance. As I have got older I have been fortunate to meet and nurture relationships with incredible people who have given me guidance and advice and sometimes even a verbal slap on the wrist when I needed it. I would love to be able to pass on some of that great advice and help”.

It is often easier to stay in a rut than commit to the challenge of climbing out of it. But it is even more difficult if the rut is the result of a world closing in on you. Phil Packer’s extraordinary feats have shown what personal determination and motivation can achieve and have themselves been an inspiration to others. He has shown (along with many of the mentors) how, if you can imagine it, you can make it happen. There can surely be no better notion than a Centre of Inspirational Excellence to open a door to the future for young people facing adversity. I applaud it roundly and am delighted to offer my support.

I’m honoured to be a mentor of BRIT. Not only is BRIT a great concept, under Phil’s guidance, it will undoubtedly achieve everything it sets out to do. Young people are our future, and there is nothing sadder than seeing a young person, with so much potential ahead of them, but lacking the inspiration and guidance to blossom into a fully contributing member of our society. I’ve seen firsthand the power of inspiration and how it changes lives for the better. BRIT will bring structure where there currently is none to coordinate these life changing opportunities on a national scale.

Having been lucky enough to work for Virgin as a marketer for a significant part of my working life, I fully understand the meaning of the word ‘Inspiration’. BRIT is a vehicle for providing inspiration, the vital ingredient that sparks us to move towards achieving seemingly impossible things. I became paraplegic at age 21, and the rock-climbing accident I had left me wondering where to begin again. It was through inspiration from others, and support and encouragement from friends, family and strangers, that so much – including some great adventures in the wilderness – became possible again. I thank them for that, and know that BRIT has so much to offer to people, not only to lift them from the darker parts of managing disability, but to go beyond that towards greatness – that is, finding themselves and putting that to great good. It will be a real honour to share and learn alongside the young people BRIT works with.

Christopher Columbus said "you can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore" Phil not only has the courage to do anything he sets his mind to - but he has the generosity of spirit and the clarity of vision to make things happen for others too. Inspiration and honour are two words used a lot by BRIT mentors - both in reference to Phil and to the people who are part of BRIT who face the sort of challenges able bodied people rarely - perhaps until now - have considered in their everyday lives. To change the way we think about disability - to convert that into seeing it as facing adversity instead is a concept so simple one wonders why we have not had anything like it before... but then we never had Phil before. He and I climbed the three peaks together in 2010. Four days I will never forget - for I saw in him the determination, spirit and true grit he inspires in others now and I imagine forever.

It's a brilliant idea. If there's one thing that being in hospital for so long has shown me it's just how many young people have terrible problems in life. I was lucky, I had 22 years strong and healthy and doing just what I wanted in life. After a rough time I am getting better daily and know that hard work now means that there are lots of good times ahead. I'd like to see everyone get the chances that I've had. Phil has already overcome huge challenges since life changed irrevocably for him. Part of his journey has been a growing determination to help disadvantaged young people in all walks of society. Within the Army we have individuals who will both benefit from and be able to contribute to his far sighted idea; we are working closely with him as this vision becomes a reality. The concept behind the BRIT is spot on, the capability will be superb and I am delighted to give it my absolute support and endorsement. Many people talk about doing extraordinary things; few actually deliver. Here is somebody in the latter category. Drive on Phil – we are proud to be with you!

Phil Packer is an absolute hero and is such an inspiration to me and many others. I was born with Brachial Plexus Injury in my left arm and was told I'd never play sport or a musical instrument. I went on to play youth county cricket and become a musician, recording and releasing my own music with my own record label called Leftarm Records, which is named after my condition. I'm a true believer that we can do anything if we put our mind to it. With enough determination to succeed we can see miracles happen. I am honoured to have been asked to be a BRIT mentor. Everyone deserves the best possible chance in life, no matter what their circumstances, background or ability. BRIT is all about encouragement and support led by the incredible Phil Packer who has proved what you can achieve when you really put your mind to it. I will never forget seeing Phil Packer cross the finish line of the London Marathon after 14 days on Sky News. I couldn't stop crying! The British Inspiration Trust is a fantastic idea, and I am sure that under Phil Packer’s inspirational leadership, it will provide amazing support to thousands of young people. Many young people face severe personal difficulties; for some, the Armed Forces offer a structure and sense of family that can help them through these times. Sadly, however, some of those subsequently are severely wounded in the service of their country, or suffer mental health problems. Phil and other heroes like him have demonstrated that life-changing events need not define us; that even in the greatest tragedy there are new opportunities to be sought out, if the right help, assistance and encouragement is available. BRIT is a great opportunity to bring together a wide range of charities and individuals to help young people adapt to and conquer their particular challenges.

Motorsport is a hugely exciting and passionate experience, using the very best designers and engineers to make the fastest motorsport package. Then, the fastest and most talented rider or driver taking to the track, mixing speed, skill and tactical advantage to be faster than anyone else. It's a phenomenal team game within a sport that oozes passion and determination. The motorsport family supporting BRIT needs to be a team effort and I am delighted to be a BRIT Motorsport Mentor and encourage all our team Chief Executives, Drivers and Riders to do the same and give BRIT our support to collectively to raise the profile of BRIT, provide opportunities and enthuse Young People facing Adversity.

Phil has overcome his own adversity and become one of the most motivated and inspirational people I’ve ever met. Whilst there is a bit of inspiration in us all, there are some who need a little push in the right direction; a helping hand to face life’s hurdles. BRIT recognises the needs of Young People facing Adversity and what it takes to inculcate self belief, confidence and hope. If all it takes is 24 hours of my year to give something back, then I’m honoured and proud to be a BRIT Mentor and part of Phil’s extraordinary vision.

Matt ParsonsPhil Packer is an absolute hero and is such an inspiration to me and many others. Phil has shown this to the world and he continues to be a role model for me. I'm honored to be a BRIT mentor and I hope that I can also show people what can happen if you put your mind to it. Regards Matt Parsons

James KyddHaving been lucky enough to work for Virgin as a marketer for a significant part of my working life, I fully understand the meaning of the word ‘Inspiration’. To be genuinely inspiring, it takes huge amounts of courage and conviction. No one I’ve ever met, has these qualities in such abundance as Phil. The outcome of BRIT is that it will inspire people out of a dark space and change their lives forever. Is there any finer objective of any organisation anywhere in the world? I feel very lucky to be part of helping deliver this objective.

Phil Reay-Smith "As a reporter for ITV News, I witnessed first-hand Phil's stamina as he first rowed the English Channel, completed the London Marathon, and then climbed the sheer rock face of El Capitan in Yosemite Park in California despite his disability. His determination was inspiring to see, and it's matched only by the determination Phil is now exhibiting in making the British Inspiration Trust a reality. He realised early on that it's essential for young people facing adversity to gather together those with the ability, understanding and will to support others and that is why I'm supporting BRIT".

I am delighted that Phil has chosen West Sussex for the proposed location of the Charity Centre and I was pleased to join him for the Challenge kick-off event at Chichester College. Phil has already carried out amazing work in his determination to support a variety of charities and I am pleased that West Sussex County Council is able to work alongside as a partner in this incredibly important endeavour." - Mike Coleman Chairman of West Sussex County Council.

General Sir David Richards“ I am delighted to be a Mentor for the British Inspiration Trust. The visionary outlook of BRIT, to partner with and to gain the support of all the Service Charity CEOs, will ensure that the information, expertise and best practice BRIT applies when dealing with our wounded is accurate and understanding. BRIT has the opportunity to harness support from our Service Charities and I urge them all to give support and assistance as partners of BRIT. I am enthused and excited that there will be a month (November) dedicated to our wounded and that BRIT will harness support to deliver bespoke inspirational courses to those that need it the most.
General Sir David Richards -- BRIT Mentor
Gabby Logan“I am thrilled to be able to offer any help I can to the inspiring Phil Packer, his idea to set up BRIT is typical of Phil's selflessness and his intuition about what young people need.
Gabby Logan -- BRIT Mentor
Sir Ranulph Fiennes BT OBE“Phil ’s British Inspiration Trust is visionary; I know Phil needs Inspirational Figures to step forward as BRIT Mentors and give 24 hrs of their year at the Centre; the more that volunteer, the more impact we will have to enthuse the next generation. I stand by Phil; I urge others to join the BRIT family”

Phil Jones“I am very proud Phil has asked me to be a BRIT mentor having met him before his vision had a name or an identity. A lot of my spare time is spent bringing creative and sports businesses, clubs and charities together in collaborative fun environments and I LOVE the way Phil has created BRIT to embrace other charities for the benefit of a cause he feels passionate about. The man is a legend!”

Andy StevensonI first met Phil Packer in the Autumn of 2009, filming with him at Goodwood House in preparation for him receiving the Helen Rollason award at BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

Mark OrmrodI’m delighted to be asked by Phil to be a "support to our wounded" mentor, peer support is a vital part of rehabilitation after any traumatic injury and I don't think I would have got as far as I have without the help and support of other people in similar situations to me who have been living with injuries a lot longer. This is a way for me to give a little bit back and hopefully help out guys who think that there life is over after injury. I really hope I can help make a difference. The British Inspiration Trust promises to supply all three in abundance to some of the most deprived young people in the UK. As a disabled adventurer I well appreciate the incredible power of having a positive mental attitude and so I am delighted to be associated with Phil's tremendous, ambitious enterprise."

Asghar MajeedOn behalf of everyone at the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead I congratulate Phil Packer MBE for having the courage and dedication to undertake “Brit 2012 Challenge”.

Ade Adepitan MBEWe all have had to face challenges in our lives especially during our teenage years when every problem can feel insurmountable.

General the Lord Walker of AldringhamIt is often easier to stay in a rut than commit to the challenge of climbing out of it.

Nell McAndrew I am honoured to have been asked to be a BRIT mentor. I had met Phil at the start and finished like most people that same day. But Phil had to push his mind and body to the limit, believe in himself and showed so much strength, stamina and courage beyond belief. A true hero to show younger people the way forward.

Alastair Humphreys“It was a privilege to get to know Phil rowing from England to France.
Alastair Humphreys -- BRIT Mentor
Sir Mike RakeI support and admire the BRIT vision of inspiring young people, who are facing various types of adversity, to fulfil their potential. This is particularly critical in the current economic environment. Through partnering with a number of charities BRIT will reach young people at a critical stage in their lives. I encourage businesses across the country to support BRIT, in any way they can, to make a contribution to the success of this venture.

Kate SilvertonChristopher Columbus said "you can never cross the ocean unless you have the courage to lose sight of the shore" Phil not only has the courage to do anything he sets his mind to - but he has the generosity of spirit and the clarity of vision to make things happen for others too.

Paul McNieveWhen Paul McNeive lost his legs, in a fire, aged twenty, he was a trainee with a company. He returned to work, walking on prosthetic legs, and twenty years later, he was Managing Director, with 250 staff, when the company was sold for 50million euro. As Paul relates, "I constantly needed to prove that I could do just as well without my legs, as with them. So, I had to try a little harder at everything. I was deeply motivated. And when you try a little harder at everything, you soon stand out". Along his journey, Paul became the first double amputee in the World to gain a helicopter pilots license. Karen Darke BRIT is a vehicle for providing inspiration, the vital ingredient that sparks us to move towards achieving seemingly impossible things.

Sir Richard Branson''BRIT is visionary and innovative. I am proud to be a supporter of BRIT. BRIT is an organisation that not only brings charities together, but encourages young people who face the most unbelievable challenges - everyday! BRIT is qualified and inspiring because it is the brain child of the most inspirational individual – it's founder; Phil Packer MBE – a person I deeply admire. It is inspiring that a man such as Phil, after all he’s been through, wants only to talk to young men and women like him who face adversity daily. I am deeply honoured that Phil has asked me to be a Mentor to BRIT. I’m sure the young people I meet will teach me more than I could ever wish to teach them. It is a great idea, founded by a worthy man and I am proud that I can play a small part.”

Angela MadsenDisability is not death or a death sentence.

LBdr Ben Parkinson MBE It's a brilliant idea. If there's one thing that being in hospital for so long has shown me it's just how many young people have terrible problems in life. I was lucky, I had 22 years strong and healthy and doing just what I wanted in life. Phil Packer is no ordinary man but he and his Inspiration Trust know how to get the best out of ordinary young people at a time when the cards are stacked against them. Geoff Holt MBEI’m honoured to be a mentor of BRIT.

Sally KettleWe all remember someone who encouraged and inspired us to do more with our lives. The BRIT Trust will be that 'someone' for Young People facing Adversity who desperately need to feel that they can be more than their circumstances have allowed. As a Speaker I regularly tell people "It's not what you do, it's what you inspire others to do" - so when Phil invited me to be part of this incredible incentive I couldn't say no, and I have to thank BRIT for allowing me to continue to do that. So, please support the Trust and know that in doing so, you will give Young People facing Adversity confidence, motivation and an experience that will last a lifetime.

Sir Stephen DaltonThe British Inspiration Trust is a fantastic idea, and I am sure that under Phil Packer’s inspirational leadership, it will provide amazing support to thousands of young people.

Major General Andrew Gregory CBPhil has already overcome huge challenges since life changed irrevocably for him.
