Raising Awareness

BRIT would consider a film documentary to cover BRIT Art from start to finish and engage with a Media Channel such as Channel 4 or Netflix.

Involving students in the filming of the partnering/mentoring stories, and the creation of the art, would ensure young people are the heart of the initiative. BRIT has a very strong relationship with Buckinghamshire New University (BNU) who have resources at Pinewood Studios and could be approached on this project.

BRIT can also engage with Colleges of Art around the UK and the artist’s own art schools.

The generosity of iconic artists, by donating a work of art, would also undoubtedly inspire the young adults we are determined to support. Artists sharing why young adult mental health matters to them would also be a powerful and positive message.

There is potential for a proactive communications plan to share these stories on social media platforms in the lead up to the BRIT Art Auction.

SOCIAL MEDIA

As a charity that focuses on improving the mental health and wellbeing of young adults, students, and staff, we have decided not to use social media to promote our work.

Based on expert research, we acknowledge that social media can negatively impact mental health, leading to: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, body dissatisfaction, poor sleep habits, loneliness, and self-harm.

Should Universities, Colleges, Students' Unions, or our Ambassadors, decide to post content relating to their BRIT Challenge activities on Instagram, we will comment and repost.
