A special relationship is forged between the British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) and LimbPower

We are thrilled that Kiera Roche, Chief Executive of LimbPower, is supporting the British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) and are delighted to have forged a special relationship in which we will be honoured to champion their tremendous work to engage and support amputees and individuals with limb impairments.

LimbPower was launched in 2009 to engage amputees and individuals with limb impairments in physical activity, sport and the arts to improve quality of life and to aid lifelong rehabilitation.

In 2004, LimbPower became a national Disability Sports Organisation, sitting alongside WheelPower, Cerebral Palsy Sport (CP Sport), Dwarf Sport, British Blind Sport (BBS), Deaf Sport, Mencap Sport and Special Olympics Great Britain (SOGB). Through this association and their work with the Activity Alliance, formerly English Federation of Disability Sport and Sport England, LimbPower help amputees and people with limb impairment reach their physical potential.

Kiera has been a great friend to BRIT and has introduced many athletes to our work in support of young adult mental health. This has led to many LimbPower ambassadors and supporters joining our BRIT Ambassador family to help inspire and encourage students and young adults throughout the UK to take part in our annual BRIT Challenges.

“We are extremely proud of the special relationship between LimbPower and The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT). Both charities are delighted to be supporting each other.

Our vision is changing lives through the power of physical activity, sport and the arts, therefore the BRIT Challenge has the potential to involve students and young adults at university or college who are amputees or live with limb impairments.

Through our special relationship with BRIT we are keen to signpost and promote our work to increase engagement, sustained participation and promote local inclusion to help limb impaired adults, young people and children reach their potential. BRIT Ambassadors play a vital role in encouraging universities and colleges to enter teams in the BRIT Challenge and inspiring students and young adults to take part; I am delighted that many of these BRIT Ambassadors, who are athletes with amputees or have limb impairments, are promoting LimbPower and sharing their remarkable achievements in their chosen sport.”
