GB Rower, Melissa Wilson, joins Row Britannia

Melissa is a World U23 medallist and was an A-finalist at the 2017 and 2018 World Rowing Championships and hopes to make a mark on the senior international stage during the Tokyo Olympiad.

As stroke of the victorious Cambridge blue boat for the 2017 Women’s Boat Race, Melissa has demonstrated impressive talent during her short time in rowing. Whilst at Cambridge, she rowed in four Boat Races.

She took up the sport at university and has since won silver and bronze medals at the 2014 and 2015 World Rowing U23 Championships, and finished seventh in the single sculls at the FISU World University Rowing Championships in 2016.

Melissa made her senior debut in 2017 at the World Cup in Lucerne, racing to sixth in the women’s four. She then went on to race with Cambridge teammate Holly Hill in the women’s pair at the World Rowing Championships in Sarasota-Bradenton, finishing fourth. Last summer she came fifth in the women’s quad at the World Rowing Championships in Plovdiv.

We are delighted that Melissa has joined Row Britannia and is highly likely to be visiting Cambridge University.
