Paralympian, Pippa Britton, joins Row Britannia

Pippa is Wales’ most successful archer. A double Paralympian and double World Champion, she made the podium at 6 consecutive World Championships and achieved 24 medals from 24 International events.

She has also represented the Welsh able-bodied archery team on more than 20 occasions and has broken many World and National records. During her sporting career she also had 2 major spinal operations and uses her remarkable story to provide inspiration and support to others. After retiring from competing, she decided to give back to sport and society, bringing a blend of understanding around equity and diversity and extensive non-executive director experience to governance roles.

Always working with fair play at heart, she is both the Vice-Chair of Sport Wales and of UK Anti Doping and has been Chair of Disability Sport Wales.

Hoping to expand physical activity to a broader base of people, she is an Independent Board Member of Aneurin Bevan NHS Health Board and has worked at Board level with Archery GB, World Archery and World Archery Europe.

Alongside governance and training, she became a certified mentor and coach and now uses her experience of high performance and achievement along with a background in crisis management to help make things happen for other people. Her partner company Elephant in the Room, provides disability awareness training for organisations, schools and colleges through down to earth and interactive sessions. The training concentrates on how we all interact and communicate with each other on a daily basis and can also provide support for employers and employees on an ongoing basis.

We are delighted that Pippa has joined Row Britannia and will visit both Cardiff Metropolitan University and Coleg Gwent in 2020 before the 13th March (Sport Relief).
