Thank you to The University of Bath for supporting BRIT and championing the BRIT 2021 Challenge

We are sincerely grateful to the University of Bath for supporting BRIT and championing the BRIT 2021 Challenge.

“The University of Bath fully embraced the BRIT 2020 Row Britannia Challenge. Supported by Professor Ian White, our Vice-Chancellor and President, my involvement was to look at how our university could utilise its strengths to support our Student Union and involve as many students as possible in the challenge and raise funds for charity.

BRIT’s Challenges are inclusive events to improve the mental and health fitness of young adults. They encourage participation of all abilities and actively promote adaptive sport, so we were delighted to take on the Row Britannia Challenge.

At Bath we have state of the art facilities, are home to many national squads and have held training camps for the British Paralympic Association and hosted the Invictus Games Trials. We wholeheartedly supported Team Bath’s participation and invited double-Olympic Gold Medallist, Heather Stanning, to promote the BRIT 2020 Row Britannia Challenge as an event in Bath for the whole university to take part in at the Sports Training Village.

COVID-19 restrictions stopped our students reaching their fundraising target and completing their BRIT 2020 Row Britannia Challenge, so we are excited that BRIT will be delivering the BRIT 2021 Challenge as a feelgood fundraiser. Subject to any Covid restrictions in place at the time, we will encourage all of our students, as Team Bath, to take part as a way of improving their mental health and raising vital funds for charities who support our students.”
