The University of Cumbria supports BRIT and champions the BRIT 2021 Challenge

We are delighted that the University of Cumbria have embraced the BRIT 2021 Challenge and are championing the opportunity for students and staff to take part in order to support and improve young adult mental health throughout the UK.

We are most grateful to Professor Julie Mennell, Vice Chancellor of the University of Cumbria, for all her support over the past two years.

"Student wellbeing is very important to us at the University of Cumbria and we were delighted to host visits from The BRIT Founder, Phil Packer, at both our Lancaster and Ambleside Campuses where he met many of our students and staff. The university was pleased to take part in the BRIT Row Britannia Challenge, which included two teams of staff and students going head-to-head in the challenge of rowing 10 miles across Lake Windermere.

We look forward to the launch of the BRIT 2021 Challenge and the event taking place between now and 1st July 2021. With the opportunity to add miles to a university team target by walking, jogging, running, hand-cycling, cycling, in a wheelchair, rowing, paddling or swimming, there is scope and flexibility for students to take part on campus or at home.

We will encourage all of our students to participate as a way of improving their mental health and fitness, having fun and raising vital funds for charity.”
