We are delighted that Amy has joined our BRIT Ambassador family.
Amy is a Commonwealth Medallist, European Champion and World and Olympic finalist.
“I’m thrilled to join the BRIT Ambassador family and champion the BRIT 2021 Challenge in order to support and improve young adult mental health and fitness throughout the UK.
The COVID-19 pandemic is affecting us all and looking after our mental health and wellbeing is vital. The effects of government restrictions, feelings of isolation and university, college and school closures throughout the UK are impacting on young adult mental health; particularly those with existing mental health challenges.
The BRIT 2021 Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to engage the 5 million Higher and Further Education students in UK universities and colleges by inviting them to participate in a fun feel-good fundraiser.
If every UK university and college enters a team and 2,021 students take part (at home or on campus) almost 1 million students would be taking on the challenge. If every university and college team raised £2,021, together they would raise almost £1million to support student and young adult mental health!
I hope that fellow current and retired Olympians, Paralympians and sports personalities will join our BRIT Ambassador family so that all 450 UK universities and colleges have a British Sporting Icon to raise awareness of the BRIT 2021 Challenge and encourage student and staff participation.

Amy progressed through the club levels at Wyre Forest Swimming Club until she attended Loughborough University in 2005.
In December 2005, at the age of 18, Amy qualified for her first International meet at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne where she represented England and won silver in the 4 x 100 metre freestyle relay.
Since 2008, Amy has competed and medalled in various European Championships, World Championships and two Commonwealth Games. At the London 2012 Olympic Games, Amy finished fifth in the Women’s 4 x 100 metre Freestyle relay and 9th in the 50 metre freestyle.
Amy is a Sport for Schools mentor, former Performance Athlete Mentor at Loughborough University and a Soft Tissue Therapist for GB Para Triathlon, Para Canoe and GB Gymnastics.
