We are thrilled that AMOSSHE - The Student Services Organisation supported BRIT, and championed the annual BRIT Challenge this year, by inviting their 800 members to embrace the challenge, enter teams and encourage students and staff to participate.

Every UK university, college and Students' Union were invited to enter teams and encourage student and staff participation, both on campus or at home. Over the past two years, almost 180 university and college teams have taken part in the annual BRIT Challenge.

We were also honoured that AMOSSHE asked Phil, our Founder and Non-Paid Chief Executive, to close their 2021 National Conference as a Keynote Speaker on Friday 16th July 2021; https://events.rdmobile.com/Speakers/Details/1153227

This was a great opportunity to invite the leaders of Student Services in the UK to embrace the annual BRIT Challenge, add our February feel good fundraiser in their university's Calendar of Events, and encourage team participation when we launch the next challenge, taking place in February 2022, in October 2021.

There are over 450 universities and colleges in the UK and over 7 million HE & FE students. To assist us in sharing the opportunity to participate in the annual BRIT Challenge with students and staff, we have partnered, or are working closely, with National Governing Bodies including the Committee of University Chairs (CUC), Universities UK (UUK), the Association of Colleges (AoC), Colleges Scotland, Colleges Wales/ColegauCymru and the National Union of Students (NUS).

It has been a pleasure to build a special relationship with AMOSSHE and we are sincerely grateful to John Bloomfield, Executive Director at AMOSSHE, for all his support.

AMOSSHE, The Student Services Organisation, informs and supports the leaders of Student Services in the UK, and represents, advocates for and promotes the student experience worldwide.

AMOSSHE is a professional membership association for leaders of Student Services in UK higher education. Student Services departments in nearly all publicly funded UK higher education providers are members of AMOSSHE, as well as several overseas universities.

Their members’ work supports students in fulfilling their academic potential and making the most of university life. Many of their members’ services specifically help the most vulnerable students to experience higher education in a fair manner.

Pre-launch of this year's annual BRIT Challenge, John said;

“We are proud and delighted to champion The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) and promote their BRIT 2021 Challenge to support and improve the mental health and fitness of young adults in the UK. AMOSSHE promotes the development and sharing of good practice within Student Services in the UK higher education sector at national level. Our members contribute their time and expertise to benefit the whole community, and ultimately, the experience of students. The BRIT Vision resonates with us and we will encourage our 800 UK higher education members to embrace the BRIT 2021 Challenge, register teams and encourage their students and staff to take part. This is an inspiring opportunity for the higher education sector to show a collectively powerful approach to improve young adult mental health and raise vital funds for mental health charities who support students and young adults.” John Bloomfield Executive Director AMOSSHE, The Student Services Organisation

AMOSSHE is directed an Executive Committee of twelve AMOSSHE members and Student Services professionals. The Executive, who include AMOSSHE's Chair and Vice Chairs, are elected by their members and volunteer their time to ensure that AMOSSHE works in the best way to support their members, the sector and the student experience. AMOSSHE also employs a team of permanent staff who manage the running and development of the organisation, guided by the elected Executive Committee. SOCIAL MEDIA

As a charity that focuses on improving the mental health and wellbeing of young adults, students, and staff, we have decided not to use social media to promote our work.

Based on expert research, we acknowledge that social media can negatively impact mental health, leading to: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, body dissatisfaction, poor sleep habits, loneliness, and self-harm.

Should Universities, Colleges, Students' Unions, or our Ambassadors, decide to post content relating to their BRIT Challenge activities on Instagram, we will comment and repost.
